Section 608
Termination of Carrier's Liability:
Unless otherwise provided in the contract, the carrier's liability shall be deemed to be terminated in any of the following cases:-
(a) If the shipper or his representative transports the goods and delivers them to the owner of the goods or his representative or a person designated by him,
(b) if the goods delivered to the carrier are returned by the owner of the goods or his representative before shipment,
(c) If the transporter or his representative returns the goods to the owner of the goods or his representative showing that the goods cannot be transported within the stipulated time due to the circumstances of clause (b) of sub-section (2) of section 531.
(a) If the shipper or his representative transports the goods and delivers them to the owner of the goods or his representative or a person designated by him,
(b) if the goods delivered to the carrier are returned by the owner of the goods or his representative before shipment,
(c) If the transporter or his representative returns the goods to the owner of the goods or his representative showing that the goods cannot be transported within the stipulated time due to the circumstances of clause (b) of sub-section (2) of section 531.
